Zionism has ‘emptied’ out Judaism as ‘critical mass’ of US Jews breaks with Israel

Opposition to Israel is hardening into anti-Zionism among a growing number of US Jews, according to Jewish Currents editor Arielle Angel. Speaking to Haaretz, Angel said that a “critical mass” of American Jews is now “disgusted with Israel” and no longer sees Zionism as central to Jewish life.
Angel went on to claim that attachment to Israel among this section of American Jewry is “waning, if not evaporated”. She described the shift as a profound political and moral break with the Israeli state.
Angel, who defines herself as anti-Zionist, said the shift goes far beyond criticism of Israeli policy. She described a growing constituency of Jews in the US who see Israel as an apartheid state, believe it is committing genocide, and are turning away from the institutions that made loyalty to Israel the organising principle of Jewish communal life.

Angel said this emerging current is not simply disillusioned but explicitly anti-Zionist. “The numbers are high, and these people don’t have anywhere to go.” She stressed that there is “no institutional base for this growing population” as more Jews break with Zionism and search for a different political and spiritual home.
Angel framed that rupture in stark terms, saying that “Zionism itself is the thing that emptied Judaism of meaning.” In its place, Angel said many Jews are now seeking what she called a “justice-centred Judaism”, rooted not in the Israeli state but in solidarity, moral responsibility and communal life beyond nationalism.
The rupture between Israel and American Jews and has been sharpened by Israel’s genocide on Gaza and by the role of mainstream Jewish organisations in defending it. Angel stressed. She described the “catastrophic failure of Zionist Judaism” and asked whether it could become an opening for anti-Zionist Jews “to step into greater influence” and “make our case for something new”.

Angel also said the break with Israel is forcing many anti-Zionist Jews to confront exclusion from mainstream Jewish institutions. She sees Jewish Currents as one of the few spaces where such Jews can begin to imagine an alternative identity, particularly as they are pushed out of synagogues and communal life because of their opposition to Zionism.
Among her sharpest remarks, Angel warned that Israel’s actions, and the insistence of establishment Jewish organisations on equating Judaism with Israel, are placing Jews at risk globally. “Israel’s actions – and support for them among the global Jewish institutions – are endangering world Jewry,” she said.

It takes a bunch of barbaric creatures to believe that the Jews had the right to invade and occupy Palestine by force by removing 90% of the indigenous population from the land! But it is hard to believe that the Ashkenazi who are in fact a white European people do not realize that they are a European people just like the Germans from the way they look. These foreign European creatures were extremely hated by the European Christians who desperately wanted to find a place where to get rid of them and Palestine finally became the place. The history of how the European Jews created their state on the land of the Palestinians is very clear: they engaged in barbaric activities in order to get rid of the indigenous population of Palestine. Because the European Jews came to Palestine from the ghettos of Eastern Europe and they used to be a destitute and starving people would mean that they could not have occupied Palestine on their own – they needed the support of the European Christians who hated them and therefore they were more than motivated to help the Jews to occupy Palestine. In 2009 when bombs were raining on the people of Gaza, the ADL did a survey and found out that American Jews were united and supported the war in overwhelming numbers. The ADL appeared to be very excited about their findings and decided to share it online – but then it dawned on them that it was not a good idea to let the gentile world know that the Jews are united when it comes to unleashing their bombs from the sky on innocent people on the ground and they decided to delete their findings. Unfortunately for them, it was already archived. Other surveys regarding the 2009 war on Gaza showed that 96% of the Jews in America and also 96% of the Jews in ''Israel'' supported the war. Nicely put. In London, when the jewish ambulances were set fire, AlJazeera (UK) went to report. A mob of 30+ jewish locals surrounded them shouting abuse. When a non-jewish local asked then why, they the felt threatened by the 2 men and 1 woman TV crew.

Back to Gaza, a patrol of fully-armed IDF soldiers shot and killed three shirtless men approaching them, calling out in Jewish and waving a white shirt. So because the patrol felt "threated", by the 3 unarmed half-naked men (i.e. no hidden bomd belts) they shot all three of their IDF colleagues.

Having been attacked (again) whilst in negotiations, Iran are now solely striking US assets in these countries, and some civil targets that 100% reflect the preceding strikes on theirs. Yes, there is limited collateral damage, but they don't attack hospitals and double-tap girl schools.

Helen, The power of American Jews is too deeply rooted to be shaken by any hiccup in the Middle East. It has been found that all the US presidents have some historic Jewish heritage.
In the UK people who broke into a UK-based Israeli owned weapons technology firm have been detained without charge for over a year (completely unheard-of in the UK). Laws are being rushed through to abandon jury trial (their historic right from the Magna Carta) so that they can't saved by the jury and will be sentenced for terrorism rather breaking and entering.
