Professor Jeffrey... - Faculty Against Antisemitism Movement | Facebook

Professor Jeffrey Blutinger is a constant for our Steering Committee and California State University, Long Beach, where he has been teaching for 20 years. More about him…
Professor Blutinger has a deep interest in Israel and the Middle East, topics he has been teaching about for 22 years.
He is working on several book projects, including a source book on modern Jewish historiography, an intellectual history of German historian Heinrich Graetz, and a study of two murder trials in the 1920s.
Professor Blutinger has experienced the dangers of campus antisemitism firsthand. Last year, police had to evacuate him from his own guest lecture after the space was mobbed by protesters, who objected to having a “Zionist” on campus.
He says, “I hope that, in time, dialogue, education and understanding will once again be possible, and that Jewish students and faculty will have both the knowledge to engage in them and the resilience and confidence to stand up for themselves in this current environment. All university campuses should be safe spaces for all students and faculty.”
